Collecting Kids Books for a “Bookcase for Every Child"
It’s time for the annual Ashland Bookcase Project! The Rotary Club of Ashland is partnering with the community to help fight illiteracy. Master carpenters in the community will donate their talent and time to build 55 bookcases this year for at risk children in the Head Start program in Ashland and Sullivan. Our goal is to fill those bookcases with gently used or new books that you might donate, geared for ages 2-6 years. The children who are identified by the Head Start teachers receive a personalized bookcase and nice starter set of books. Please help us fill the white boxes located in the FLC Gym entrance and in The Park/preschool area. We hope the books will open new doors for these children and enable them to dream and enjoy reading experiences they might not otherwise have! We will collect until March 23. Thank you.
