Chicontla Update

December 03, 2014

In recent months, we've been able to support our ongoing ministry in Chicontla, Mexico by donating $2,200 to provide resources for a for a Special Education program and an additional $1,800 to help provide funds for a youth Internship for Antonio Banqueras Rivera to provide care and leadership for the many youth coming to Christ in the area. Antonio has since sent us this letter of gratitude via our friend Doug Cooper:

Dear Pastor Cooper,

I hope you and your family are doing well. I have many things to tell you, and I will start telling you that it’s an amazing privilege to be working for God. I’m blessed that God put his eyes on me. I really enjoy working with children and teenagers in Chicontla and El Dorado. My commitment is to share the Word of God, and reach out the ones who have not heard of him. It’s a privilege to work in the mission field, work with the youth and be a leader. I hope one day I can become a Pastor. I ask you to please continue praying for me so my love and hard work for the children and youth will never cease. So I can talk to people and present a loving God, a God that they need to know.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your prayers, help and support. It was not a coincidence. God had plans for me already. When you came to Chicontla you confirmed to me where God wanted me to be. Please keep in mind that I’m always praying for you and the Church of Ashland. I thank God for all of you, and may God continue blessing you.

Sincerely,

Antonio Barqueras Rivera

May God continue to bless this work, and may we continue to partner in prayer and generosity. Thanks!
