Moving On Up
Hello All!
The new school year will be starting soon (though a little later for Ashland folks), and along with it comes our Fall Kick-Off for Youth Ministry.
If you have any (or are yourself an) upcoming 6th and 7th graders joining us or are unfamiliar with us, I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Cory, and I am the Student Ministries Director around here. This means I get the wonderful privilege of working with a team of volunteers that exist to come alongside parents as a support and encouragement as they disciple their kids. It also means we get the great pleasure of living life with teens as we explore faith through bible studies, small groups, retreats, camps, events, and mission trips. We are here to empower you all to draw closer to Christ as a family.
To get all of this started, I'd like to notify you of some important dates coming up:
August 30th
9AM - Jr & Sr High Youth Bible Fellowships (YBF) will meet. New 6th & 7th graders will move up to the Jr High class in room 405 of the Family Life Center (FLC) and new 9th graders will move up to the Sr High class in room 404.
10AM - Parents are invited to join us and the youth in FLC room 404 for a time of prayer and introductions. This is mainly a time for you all to get to know our faces and allow us an opportunity to pray over you and your families.
4-6PM - Block Party on Park St. This is a fun activity for the whole church and you should come hang out!
September 5-7
Family Camp at Camp Bethany. If you're looking for an opportunity to rest a bit for a weekend, reconnect as a family, meet some new people, and get centered to start the school year off right - this is it! For more details, check out parkstreetbrethren.org/familycamp2015.
September 13th
Fall Kick-Off. This is the Sunday that our YBF classes will launch into our new series for the Fall. We will also be hosting a party from 5-9PM at the Amstutzes house. See the event page for more details.
