Vision Statement

Adult Ministries envisions every believer at Park Street Brethren Church personally devoted to enjoy God more than ever before, to love each other deeper than ever before and to care for our parish better than ever before (the Great Commandments and the Great Commission).

  1. We envision every believer at PSBC devoted to a wide range of personal spiritual practices to enjoy God and to become like Christ with “every increasing glory which is from the Lord who is Spirit” (1Cor 3:18).
    • We envision every believer aware of and devoted to be worshippers 24/7.
    • We envision every believer aware of and immersed in their identity in Jesus Christ so we are a church of authenticity and transparency together.
    • We envision every believer daily tapping into the transformational power of God’s Word
    • We envision every believer fully receiving the grace of God, sharing the grace of God with each other, and extending the grace of God to those outside the family of God – so that we become famous as a church of grace (undeserved favor).
    • We envision every believer discovering, developing, deploying, and delighting in spiritual gifts and holy calling so that we become a gift and calling based church where the work of God is done in the power of the Spirit.
  2. We envision every believer at PSBC devoted to love one another deeply from the heart.
    • We envision every believer devoted to every Biblical ‘One another.”
    • We envision every believer committed to heal every broken relationship and every broken person.
    • Because spiritual formation happens in the context of relationships we envision every believer devoted to balance Biblical circles of spiritual friendship (Communion, Core, Cell, Congregation, Celebration, Crowds, Creation)
    • We envision every believer at PSBC being mentored and being a mentor.
    • We envision a church that does not avoid conflict but resolves conflict in biblical ways as we speak the truth in love.
    • We believe in the power of generations – so we envision every believer intentionally nurturing cross-generational friendships.
  3. We envision every believer at PSBC forming significant friendships with some who are far from God in order to care for their real needs.
    • We envision that every believer at PSBC will know the names of and be forming relationships with at least 10 people who are still far from God.
    • We believe that as we are intentional about enjoying God, loving deeply, and caring better – that God will increase our circle of influence for Christ in the world.
    • We envision a church where people from all backgrounds, races, denominations, ages, and social classes see that we are experiencing fullness of life with Christ and so want to find a spiritual home with us.
