Mission: The Bible envisions that churches be led by teams of deeply spiritual, Christ-like leaders. We believe our job description as The Spiritual Health Team is specifically mandated in Biblical passages for spiritual leaders (1Tim and Titus, Acts 6 and 20, 1Pe 5, etc.). The Spiritual Health Team is charged with the spiritual nurture of the entire congregation.

Vision: We envision a spiritually healthy and vibrant congregation upon whom God looks with favor and blessing and joy.

Core Values:
1.
We know spiritual leaders are held to a higher standard and will give an account to God for their leadership (Heb 13:17). We will take seriously the Biblical mandates for spiritual leaders (Acts 20:18-21, Acts 20:28, 1Pe 5:3). We are convinced authentic spiritual leadership begins with self leadership. We will be models of a Christ-like life, we will intentionally nurture the fruit of the Spirit in our lives, we will train ourselves to be more and more sensitive and responsive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
2. From the foundation of who we are, our ministry’s responsibility is to attend to the spiritual development and well being of our entire congregation – to nurture every person and every ministry at Park Street to be growing in Jesus Christ (1Pe 5:2, Acts 20:20, Phil 2:1-5).
3. First we will listen to God and secondly we will listen to our congregation. Both are important, but out priority must be to listen to God first and to share what we are hearing from Him. Isaiah 50:4 will be a key verse for our responsibility as the Spiritual Health Team.
4. Prayer will be one of our primary tools for nurturing our congregation. We accept responsibility to be the front line of prayer in spiritual warfare with the principalities and powers in high places. We will be stand guard for the flock in prayer (Acts 20:29-31). And we will model dependence on God through prayer.
5. We will attend to the teaching of the Word throughout Park Street Brethren Church to ensure that the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27) is taught with truth and transformational power (1Tim 3:16-17, Acts 6:4). We will constantly urge every person and every ministry at PSBC to honor the authority of Christ and the Word of God.
6. We will embody our church mission to enjoy God, love deeply, and care better. And…
a. We will constantly gauge the spiritual passion/delighting in God of our congregation.
b. We will constantly urge the body to love one another deeply from the heart.
c. We will constantly fuel and monitor our congregation’s missional fervor.
7. We will guard the unity of the Spirit at Park Street Brethren Church.
8. We will constantly seek to be a Spirit-led congregation so our ministry is not by might and not by strength but by the Spirit of the Lord.
9. We will constantly urge our members to praise – to share the stories of God sightings and God’s power and God’s glorious grace in our lives.
10. We will encourage generation to generation sharing of the greatness of God (Psalm 78).
