Staff Leaders: Jason Barnhart & Cory Smith
Lay Leader: Needed
Core Ministries:
- Youth Bible Fellowship (YBF)
- Youth Missions/Service Projects
- Youth Sunday Night Fellowship
- Pursuit Mid-Week Bible Study
Mission:
Oasis (high school) & Refuge (junior high) ministries work in partnership with God to engage high school and middle school students with the reality, presence and movement of God within this time and place.
Vision:
We envision Oasis & Refuge teens that, out of the overflow and outflow of their relationship with Jesus Christ, become missionaries to their schools, sports and other areas of influence.
Core Values:
Holistic Discipleship—Instead of a consumeristic program merely serving the culture of our students, we see our program equipping students by helping them with practical tools to work through their own spiritual, physical, and emotional development.
Mentoring—Leaders/volunteers should be equipped and empowered to meet with students on their level so that each student may have the opportunity to connect with leaders as spiritual mentors and form small groups.
Service—Matthew 25 declares that when we reach out to the marginalized, oppressed and impoverished, we are actually reaching out to Jesus himself. Through servant leadership, students should be immersed in an environment where serving and loving others as themselves is considered normal.
Evangelism—As an extension of the command to love others as ourselves, students should be able to share their faith confidently and be well equipped to enter into spiritual conversations.
Missio Dei—Students should have a grasp of what God’s mission is in the world around them and how to engage in it.
Worship—Students should be equipped to live their lives as a form of worship (in song, dance, work, play, rest, etc.). As leaders, we should model and teach genuine worship.
