We have NEW Park Street t-shirts available for $10 each! Large and extra large men’s sizes can be purchased in the church office during business hours; smaller sizes, including women’s sizes, will be available soon. We also have coffee thermoses coming soon. Thermoses will be free to first-time visitors but can also be purchased for $5 each. Watch for both items after worship services starting August 1.

Property Team needs volunteers for project

Our Property Team is beginning work on some of our church rental properties that are in need of some TLC. One of our team’s priorities this year is to fix up our rentals in order to be the best landlords and neighbors we can be; we will do this as quickly as finances allow. It helps if we can round up as much volunteer labor as possible to minimize the expense.

The last week of May and first week of June, we need help stripping out the basement, carpet, and bathroom in our property at 616 Park Street (the small brick house across the street from the church). We’re between tenants and have new ones moving in by June 14, so this work must happen within the next two weeks.

Giving statements have been mailed (just in time for tax season). Please review your statement carefully and call Wende Lance at the church office if you have any questions. Thanks for generously supporting the ministries of Park Street in 2009!

We offer many ways to give in 2010: use an envelope or just drop a check in the Sunday offering, set up your tithe as a weekly or monthly payment in your bank’s online bill payment system, or stop by the church office and request a form to set up direct debit giving, which goes straight from your bank account to ours on the date(s) you specify. It’s our goal to help giving be as easy and as consistent as possible. Call Wende Lance at the church office to find out more.

Help and supplies needed for ACCESS host week

We have committed to serve as an ACCESS host church and will house homeless families the week of Feb. 14, 2010 (and one week per quarter after that). We still have a few open timeslots for folks who wish to bring meals, visit with guests, or serve as overnight hosts. We need nurses or doctors who are willing to be “on call” in case of an emergency medical need. And we also need many donations of supplies (or funds to purchase supplies). Please stop by the ACCESS table after worship today and see how you can help. Thanks in advance for your support!

Volunteer team needed for Journey to the Cross

“Journey to the Cross”, an interactive, multi-generational experience will be Monday, March 29 through Friday, April 2. We are gathering our team of creators, designers, helpers, greeters, on-site staff, etc. If you are interested or have questions, please call Sherry Van Duyne by Feb. 8.

Youth Winter Jam concert is Feb. 6

Oasis (SR HI) and Refuge (JR HI), Winter Jam in Columbus, Feb. 6^th. We’ll leave the church at 3 pm Sat. and eat an early dinner. Doors open at 6 pm – concert begins at 7 pm. We’ll arrive back at the church around midnight. Cost is $10, plus the cost of food.

Family discipleship gathering is Thurs., Feb. 11

We’re inviting anyone with a passion for families (parents, grandparents, ministry workers, etc.) to an evening gathering for the beginning of a very important conversation about how the church becomes more family-friendly and how the family becomes more primary in the spiritual development of their children. You are invited to Sherry Van Duyne’s home (1760 W. Woodhill Dr., Ashland) on Thursday night, February 11, from 6:30 to 8 pm. Refreshments will be served AND childcare will be provided at her home. Please RSVP to the church office as soon as possible.

Want to make a difference in our community? If so, please come to Park Street’s first Parish Team meeting Monday, Feb. 1, from 6-7:30 pm in Room 403/404 of the Family Life Center (Sr Hi youth room). We’ll pray for our community and start brainstorming ways that our church can make life a little better for the folks in our neighborhood.
