Torch Groups

Torch Groups (also known as Life Transformation Groups) are smaller, more intimate conneXion groups for those who want to truly keep one another accountable, grow as disciples, and build deep and trusting friendships.

These groups meet once per week for approximately one hour, generally in a public place like a restaurant or coffeehouse. This makes them a natural way to witness to others through building relationships with people in our community.

Torch Groups have only 2 or 3 members (the addition of a 4th person is the beginning of a 2nd group and means multiplication is imminent) and are gender specific, not co-ed, to allow for more intimate sharing and total transparency.

Because of their casual nature, these groups require no curriculum or leader. They have three specific tasks:

  • Keep one another accountable through honest "confession" or discussion of struggles and sin.
  • Read scripture repetitively throughout the week, focusing on reading the same Book or series of chapters several times through.
  • Pray for one another and for 2 or 3 friends/acquaintances per group member.
